Embark on an unforgettable Morocco grand tour from Tangier 15-day with us, exploring its most stunning destinations. This tour begins in Tangier, where you’ll visit Cape Spartel and the legendary Hercules Cave. From there, we’ll travel through the Rif Mountains to the enchanting blue city of Chefchaouen and the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis.

Continue to the cultural hubs of Fes and Meknes, followed by a visit to Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the serene Cedars Forest. Experience the magic of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels, witness breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, and spend a night under the stars.

Next, explore the dramatic Todra and Dades Gorges, then journey through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Discover the vibrant city of Marrakech and the coastal charm of Essaouira. Finally, visit Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city, and Rabat, the nation’s capital.

Itinerary

Morocco grand tour from Tangier

Day 1: Arrival to Tangier

Upon arrival to Casablanca Airport, your driver and guide will cheerfully welcome you to Morocco. Our driver will take you to your riad/hotel in the middle of the medina where you can have a first taste of the Moroccan unique architecture. Spend the night in Tangier.

Day 2: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen

Tangier is the starting point for your Morocco grand tour from Tangier 15-day. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Tangier. Also referred to as “the bride of the north”. The city is located in the northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel. First, we will explore the lovely city, including Hercules’ Cave and Cape Spartel. Free time for lunch.

Then we’ll drive east to Chefchaouen, going via Tetouan and the Rif Mountains. Stops will be made to enjoy panoramic views. Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation. Overnight stay at a hotel in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Free day in Chefchaouen

Today is the day of exploring the blue city, we will wonder through the city. Built in the 15-th century, Chefchaouen has an old city which is mostly painted in blue. The highlights of the city are as follows since the city is easy to navigate: The kasbah which is located in the middle of the medina that is not painted in blue as it symbolizes the defensive fortress over the city. The building now is turned to be an ethnographic museum. Also, place Uta Hammam which the busy square of Chefchaouen. In addition to that, Ras El Ma indicating the water spring which has a straight source from the mountains.

You can also do some hiking to Spanish mosque to watch the sunset overlooking to the medina.

Day 4: Chefchaouen –Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After visiting Chefchaouen, we’ll set out for our next destination: Volubilis. Along the way, we’ll drive through Ouazzan and enjoy more views of the Rif Mountain. In Volubilis, you’ll have the chance to visit the ancient Roman ruins and the UNESCO-listed archaeological site.

After that, we’ll head to the imperial city of Meknes, where you’ll see the historical monuments of the 17th century. You’ll visit the main monuments, such as the Mansour gate, Hedim square, and Moulay Ismail mausoleum, and the mysterious prison of Qara with no doors.

Finally, we’ll travel to another imperial city: Fes. You’ll spend the night in the old Medina at a local riad

day 5: Guided tour sightseeing Fes

We will pick you up from your Fes riad after breakfast to tour the city. Apart from to being Morocco’s cultural and religious center, the city is regarded as one of its imperial cities.

We begin the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then there’s the well-preserved medieval Medina, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, marks the entrance to the old Medina. You will enter the Medina with a local guide. To see the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and lastly the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest university. Following that, we leave the Medina to explore the Jewish area known as “the Mellah”. Then we drive to an ancient fortress, for panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Then return to your riad.

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane - Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga:

On the next day of your Morocco grand tour, you’ll start by visiting the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its Alpine-style houses. After exploring the town, you’ll head to the Cedar Forest, home to barbary apes. You’ll have the chance to see these apes in their natural habitat and enjoy the beauty of the forest. Next, you’ll travel to Midelt, known as the “capital of apples” in Morocco.

You’ll have a lunch break here before continuing to the Ziz Valley, where you’ll see the stunning panoramic views of the oasis palm groves. From there, you’ll head to the date and fossil city of Erfoud and continue to the Merzouga desert.

When you arrive at your accommodation, you’ll be welcomed with a mint tea and spend the night there

Day 7: Merzouga excursion – Visit Nomads – Gnawa Music

Today, we’ll wake you up early so you can see the breathtaking sunrise. Following that, you’ll have breakfast, shower, and begin the day. We have all day today to go on a 4WD adventure in the desert. Merzouga is a gorgeous desert town surrounded by picturesque scenery, oasis, and abandoned settlements. We start our desert discovery from our camp by visiting the nomads in their tents where we can see their way of living and also have a walk their traditional tents.

Later, our journey continues by passing through another Nomadic settlement and a mining Kohl abandoned village to Khamliya where Dark-skinned people live. In this small town, we will have a chance to watch those people play their unique music. 

We will finish our fun day by having a traditional Berber pizza in a very local restaurant in the same town. We get you to your hotel after you enjoyed your meal.

Day 8: Erg Chebbi – Alnif – Gorges of Todgha – Valleys of Dades

On the morning, is best to get up early for lovely sunrise, after breakfast & shower return by camel ride / or 4*4 car towards Merzouga village departure to Rissani town. we will walk around the famous, traditional, and largest Market in the area exploring the local-made goods and art crafts.

It’s better to go to Rissani on one of the following days: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. These three days are the souk, so it’s a good day for the people of the desert area that want to try and do shopping. Later we travel to Tinghir along the Tafilalt Oasis where we are able to stop to explore the traditional system of irrigation found there.

Driving through Alnif town where we’ll have free time for Coffee/lunch. Then, continue to Tinghir to explore the stunning views of Todra valley & walk along Todra Gorge with its orange towering cliffs, the canyons of Todra Gorge are almost 1,000 feet deep, also a preferred place for climbers. we’ll end our day in Boumalne Dades with its green valley, Dinner & overnight in a hotel / or Riad.

Day 9: Boumalne Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Next day of your Morocco grand tour from Tangier, you’ll continue your journey after breakfast. You’ll drive along the road of Thousand Kasbahs, seeing the kasbahs on both sides of the road.

Next, you’ll visit the Rose Valley and head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” You’ll have the opportunity to visit the cinema studios where many movies, such as Game of Thrones and Gladiator, have been filmed. After that, you’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the oldest and largest kasbah in Morocco.

You’ll then drive along the Atlas Mountains, stopping at the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass for panoramic views and visiting an argan oil cooperative. Finally, you’ll head to the imperial city of Marrakech.

Day 10: Guided sightseeing tour in Marrakech

Begin your city tour the local guide with a visit to the iconic **Djemaa El-Fna Square**, the heart of Marrakech. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere filled with street performers, food stalls, and local artisans showcasing their crafts. Next, explore the **Bahia Palace**, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture featuring exquisite courtyards, intricate mosaics, and lush gardens. Continue your journey to the **Saadian Tombs**, a hidden gem and royal necropolis adorned with stunning tilework and ornate carvings.

You will also see the **Koutoubia Mosque**, the largest mosque in Marrakech, renowned for its towering minaret and historical significance. Afterward, take a peaceful stroll through the **Majorelle Garden**, a serene botanical oasis originally designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent. The vibrant blue hues and exotic plants make it a true visual delight.

End your day with a delicious traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the rich flavors of tagines, couscous, and other regional specialties. This tour offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, capturing the essence of Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech - Essaouira

After breakfast, we head west to Essaouira city. On the route, we’ll stop to visit the Argan trees and goats. Also for panoramic scenery. Essaouira, previously Mogador, is one of Morocco’s major coastal cities. We explore the fishing harbor, the medieval walls with cannons, and the old Medina. Finally, get to your hotel. Overnight stay in Essaouira.

Day 12: Free day in Essaouira

Today, you will have the entire day exploring the charming town of Essaouira, a former Portuguese settlement once known as Mogador. This picturesque town was fortified by a French architect influenced by Vauban, giving it a unique historical character. Our day of discovery will begin at the Skalla Fortress, where we’ll visit the iconic ramparts. Afterward, we’ll wander through the narrow alleys of the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning arts and crafts, including intricate items carved from local Thuya wood.

For lunch, you can take a break at the bustling Essaouira port, where fresh fish is a must-try. Thanks to its favorable microclimate, Essaouira enjoys mild winters and cool summers, making it a pleasant destination year-round. Known as the “City of the Wind,” it’s a hotspot for surfers from around the globe. The town’s rich history includes Roman, Phoenician, and Portuguese influences, which are reflected in its distinctive architecture. Despite its small size, Essaouira is steeped in history and culture.

Each year, the town hosts the renowned “Gnaoua Music Festival,” attracting musicians from Africa and beyond. This vibrant event takes place in the second week of June. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to explore at your own pace. You’ll spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel in Essaouira, wrapping up a day filled with history, culture, and charm.

Day 13: Essaouira - Casablanca

On the day of your grand tour from Tangier. We depart from Essaouira and travel aside the coast, frequent stops for panoramic views. We arrived in Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial city. We visit the Hassan II Mosque, Morocco’s biggest mosque, and the Casablanca Cornish.

Free time for lunch. Then get you to your hotel. Stay in Casablanca overnight.

Day 14: Casablanca - Rabat - Assilah

After breakfast, we will drive to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its current capital. It is located in the northwest of Morocco. You will see the city’s highlights, such as the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. Free time for lunch.

Finally, we proceed north to Assilah, where we will spend the night.

Day 15: Assilah - Tangier

Today is the last day of our Morocco grand tour from Tangier 15-day. Depending on your flight time, we will drive back to Tangier which marks the end of our services. Best of luck on your upcoming travels.
