From Marrakech, take an 8-days tour Marrakech to Fes & Chefchaouen that travels over the Sahara desert to Fes and Chefchaouen. You will see a lot of wonderful places in these 8 days and 7 nights. These include the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, the Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, the high Atlas mountains, and the city of Ouarzazate. together with the Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and Amridil Kasbah. Explore Merzouga Sahara Desert as well. where you can spend the night in a desert tent, ride camels, and see breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. In a 4×4 vehicle, explore Merzouga’s Sahara desert. You will also go to Erfoud, the town of fossils, and the traditional market in Rissani. After that, go to Ifrane, Switzerland in Morocco, and the cedar forest where Barbary macaques live. Discover two of Morocco’s royal towns, Fes and Meknes. See the blue city of Chefchaouen and the Roman remains of Volubilis. At last, Tangier marks the conclusion of the journey.

Itinerary

1 day : Marrakech – High Atlas mountains – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate

The 8-day Morocco desert tour begins with an early pickup from the airport or your hotel in Marrakech. Then, drive across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Stops will be made for panoramic views of the stunning scenery. Then we visit Telouat’s Kasbah.

Following that, we will visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified settlement declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in several movies, such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, also movies such as Game of Thrones. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, well known as “The Gate of the Desert”. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

2 day : Ouarzazate – Skoura – Amridil Kasbah – Rose valley -Dades Valley

After breakfast, we drive through Ouarzazate. First, we visit the Atlas Studios, where many popular films have been made, as well as the Taourirt Kasbah, a fortified mud fortress and one of Morocco’s most old and impressive Ksars. After there, we travel east to Amridil Kasbah in Skoura, which is bordered by palm trees.

Then continue to Kalaa Magouna, which is noted for its Rose Valley. An annual Rose Festival is held in May, when locals sell their rose items such as fragrances, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. Then we drive to the Dades valley via Boumalne Dades. Definitely stops include the “monkey fingers” rock sculpture and a vantage point on a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Dinner and stay at a hotel in Boumalne.

Day 3: Dades - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga (Night in Desert Camp)

Our next morning will start with a delicious breakfast to on your second day of your 8-day tour from Marrakech, you will proceed to Tinghir, where you will make a stop at a panoramic viewpoint that overlooks picturesque Berber settlements and an oasis teeming with palm trees. We will drive for a while deep along the valley to reach Todra gorge where you can walk alongside the Gorge, a 300-meter-tall canyon.

After lunch, we drive further to the southeast towards Merzouga desert where your camels awaits. As we get there, you will get on your camels for a breathtaking ride through the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert while enjoying the beauty of nature. In order to catch the sunset, you will stop on one the sand dunes to watch a beautiful sunset full of tranquility in the middle in the desert. Later, you ride your camels to the camp where you will get your private tent and rest before having a Berber dinner and enjoy Berber music around camp fire.

Day 4: Merzouga Explore - Gnawa Music - Visit Nomads Families

On the third day, we’ll wake you up early so you can see the breathtaking sunrise. Following that, you’ll have breakfast, shower, and begin the day. We have all day today to go on a 4WD adventure in the desert. Merzouga is a gorgeous desert town surrounded by picturesque scenery, oasis, and abandoned settlements. We start our desert discovery from our camp by visiting the nomads in their tents where we can see their way of living and also have a walk their traditional tents.

Later, our journey continues by passing through another Nomadic settlement and a mining Kohl abandoned village to Khamliya where Dark-skinned people live. In this small town, we will have a chance to watch those people play their unique music. 

We will finish our fun day by having a traditional Berber pizza in a very local restaurant in the same town. We get you to your hotel after you enjoyed your meal.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes

On the last day of our 8-day Marrakech to Desert Tour, you will wake up to the breathtaking sunrise above Erg Chebbi’s dunes and then have breakfast at the camp. Instead of riding camels back to the starting site, you can then choose for a 4WD transport.

After exploring Merzouga, you’ll be taken to the next destination, which is Fes, via the Ziz Valley, Midelt, Ifrane City, which is referred to as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco,” and the famous Middle Atlas cedar forest, which is home to the Barbary apes, in Azrou, where you can take a brief walk for photos. When you arrive in Fes in the late afternoon, you will be taken to your hotel or riad for the night.

6 day : Guided tour sightseeing Fes

We will pick you up from your Fes riad after breakfast to tour the city. Apart from to being Morocco’s cultural and religious center, the city is regarded as one of its imperial cities.

We begin the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then there’s the well-preserved medieval Medina, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, marks the entrance to the old Medina. You will enter the Medina with a local guide. To see the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and lastly the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest university. Following that, we leave the Medina to explore the Jewish area known as “the Mellah”. Then we drive to an ancient fortress, for panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Then return to your riad.

7 day : Fes – Meknes – Volubilis ruins – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we head to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the royal cities. We will visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Free time for lunch. Next, we travel 30 kilometers from Meknes to the old Roman remains of Volubilis. It is closely protected since UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. There are several wonderful mosaics spread throughout, as well as old pillars and archways.

After exploring the ruins, we go north through Rif mountains to Chefchaouen. Also known as the Blue City. The city is well known for its blue-painted houses.

8 day : Transfer to the Tangier airport

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you will have free time to walk through the lovely passageways of the blue city before we travel over the Rif mountains to Tangier to get you to the hotel/airport. The end of the 8-day Morocco trip.
